It's okay

you play the melody on the first of each measure.
That way your composition tends to be predictable!
Try to shift notes on half measures and quarter measure to liven things up.
As you do with the other melodies in the beginning.

Good funk

I would have personally not have start with the beat but with the effect and then the funk guitar you start with at 00:17.
The beat alone does not draw the audience in that much in my opinion.
The whole composition after that is simply da bomb!!!

[NiGHTS - Remix Of Dreams]

It has the

Dreamy effect in a way that it select parts as it seems quiet random.
The downside of that is that the beat is constant but the song is left with some seperate parts and is not kept together by a binding factor.
